Chelsea supporters were delighted to see Andreas Christensen had been included in the latest Champions League squad.
Christensen had been a doubt to face Porto in Sevilla tomorrow evening, after missing the weekend’s 4-1 Premier League win over Crystal Palace.
However, the 25-year-old was confirmed as part of the traveling 23-man pack and Blues fans couldn’t contain their relief.
Although Chelsea were in cruise control against Palace on Saturday, they still managed to concede.
This is something that hasn’t happened very often whilst Christensen is on the pitch.
Aside from the shock 5-2 defeat to West Bromwich Albion, the Blues have let in just one goal under Thomas Tuchel with the Danish international in attendance.
He was front and central during the previous victory over Porto, ensuring another clean sheet in the process.
Thiago Silva, the man Christensen has so often brilliantly replaced in the past few months, is also available for selection.
Tuchel might have a tricky decision on his hands over which central defender to preference.
Does he go for an experienced warrior who was built for big European nights, or trust the player who is in fine form?
One ultimatum he won’t have to dither over his Billy Gilmour.
The young Scotsman was left out of the Champions League group again, as his opportunities with the first-team continue to fade away.
