Chelsea face Arsenal at Wembley on Saturday evening in the FA Cup final, which gives manager Frank Lampard an opportunity to win a piece of major silverware during his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
There has been much discussion about the starting XI that the Blues boss will pick for the domestic cup final, especially as N’Golo Kante and Willian are both fit in the squad after their recent injury absences.
One man that really could leave his mark on the cup final if given the chance is Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is extremely highly-rated by the fanbase and is one of severals stars from the academy.
The 19-year-old speedster has looked very dangerous since football resumed with some lively cameos, which included his contribution off the bench in the away defeat to Liverpool.
He may have to wait for a substitute role again against Arsenal depending on Lampard’s decision, but the winger has got the pace and trickery to really scare the opposition’s backline.
The English attacker may be a brilliant weapon to bring into the fold at Wembley considering how fresh he will be and he’s got unpredictability on the ball with his dribbling.
Hudson-Odoi could even play himself into Champions League contention a week later, in a game against Bayern Munch when the Blues have got to play aggressively and on the front-foot.
Lampard’s team trail Bayern 3-0 on aggregate going into the second leg of a Champions league last 16 tie and it would be no surprise to see that XI stacked with attacking talent.
Hudson-Odoi has the ability to end the 2019/20 season strongly on an individual note and it could be the perfect springboard going into next year.
