Chelsea kickstart their Champions League quarter-finals with the first leg against Porto on Wednesday night, but plenty of Blues fans were watching some of the other fixtures in the competition yesterday.

Liverpool crashed to a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid, while Manchester City found a late winner though Phil Foden to beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1.

It was a narrow loss for German club Dortmund at the Etihad Stadium, but their midfielder Jude Bellingham was one of the stars of the show. Aged 17, he was one of the standout individuals on the pitch with his all-action performance from the central midfield position.

He’s quickly become a key player for Dortmund since his £25million (Sky Sports) signing last summer from Birmingham.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on Twitter were amazed by the teenager’s performance on the Champions League stage.

The senior England international was extremely unfortunate to have a goal ruled out in the first half, but he delivered a combative display in the centre of the park, and played a role in Dortmund’s priceless away goal.

A lot of praise from Blues supporters last night on social media may stem from the fact the club have previously been linked with the highly-rated teenager.

Eurosport claimed as recently as January that Bellingham has been scouted by Chelsea, and that he could be an alternative transfer target to West Ham’s Declan Rice.

He’s found the step up from the English Championship to the Bundesliga effortless. It would be no surprise to see the midfield powerhouse in the Premier League at some stage in his career.

A selection of Blues fan have admitted they’d love to have him at Stamford Bridge.

Here are some Chelsea fans wowed by the Dortmund youngster’s latest display:
