Chelsea are currently getting ready for an important Champions League fixture tomorrow night against Juventus.

The Blues host Italian opposition Juventus on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge.

Thomas Tuchel’s side lost 1-0 away to Juventus earlier in the group stages. However, they know a point will be enough to seal qualification to the Champions League knockouts, as they attempt to regain their European crown.

Here The Chelsea Chronicle predicts the starting XI that will take to the field against Juventus, which includes three changes from the weekend’s 3-0 win over Leicester City in the Premier League.

Interchangeable Chelsea defence

Edouard Mendy is likely to remain in net. Meanwhile, Antonio Rudiger is an ever-present as the left-sided centre-back in a back-three.

However, there may be a couple of rotations in the backline.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Trevoh Chalobah and Thiago Silva, who both performed superbly against Leicester, drop out of the team.

That would allow Cesar Azpilicueta and 25-year-old Andreas Christensen to be promoted to the starting line-up.

Blues manager Tuchel realistically has five brilliant options to choose from at centre-back, and he’s opted to rotate them this season.

Monstrous Midfield

Reece James, praised by teammates after Leicester, will surely continue at right wing-back.

Likewise, the midfield pivot of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho looks the most likely in a crucial European tie.

The third and final change may see £50million left wing-back Ben Chilwell come out of the team, though.

Chilwell is the first-choice right now on that left flank, but teammate Marcos Alonso is a more than able replacement to bring some extra fresh legs to the XI.

Familiar attack

Tuchel may well opt to keep the same Chelsea frontline that started against Leicester.

Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech both successfully made impacts off the bench against Leicester. Also, Timo Werner was on the bench on Saturday, so would love to make his comeback against Juventus.

The trio of Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kai Havertz may get another chance to try impress.
