FC Krasnodar head coach Murad Musayev has said Chelsea still have flaws despite the quality of their squad, speaking ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League tie.
With every team in Group E sitting on one point, Chelsea will have the opportunity to climb the table with a win at Krasnodar Stadium tomorrow.
Frank Lampard will certainly hope to find a balance between defence and attack in this game. His recent cautious approach has hampered his side’s attacking threat.
Musayev believes this imbalance could be something Krasnodar can use to their advantage.
Asked about Chelsea’s goalless draws in their past two games, he told reporters (via Sportbox.ru): “Chelsea have a good team – but they also have problems. We will try to take advantage of their latest difficulties.”
However, Krasnodar have their own problems, particularly the injuries plaguing their squad.
They were missing several key players in their 3-1 loss to Spartak Moscow on Saturday – and Musaev said that could also be the case for the Chelsea game.
“We have one more day left. We can still look and decide who will play,” he added.
“But we do not expect many changes in the line-up compared with the game against Spartak.”
Musayev said the whole of Krasnodar was looking forward to playing against a club with Chelsea’s stature.
“For our club, which is only 12 years old, and for the whole city, this is a great event,” he explained.
“Chelsea have won the Champions League and many other tournaments.
“This is a great event for us. We are looking forward to the game.”
