List of Chelsea games affected by Premier League and UEFA postponement
The Premier League have announced they will suspend all games until April 3 due to coronavirus outbreak.
Following the emergency meeting held today, The Premier League, along with the EFL Barclays FA Women’s Super League and FA Women’s Championship, have collectively agreed to suspend all professional games until April 3.
This includes Chelsea’s fixtures against Aston Villa in the Premier League and Leicester City in the FA Cup which scheduled to take place on March 15 and 21 respectively.
“In this unprecedented situation, we are working closely with our clubs, Government, The FA and EFL and can reassure everyone the health and welfare of players, staff and supporters are our priority.”
The Premier League said it aims to reschedule the displaced fixtures, including those played by Academy sides, when it is safe to do so.
UEFA suspend next week’s games
Earlier, UEFA have already announced that next week’s fixtures in UEFA competition including Champions League and Europa League are postponed.
The official statement said: “In the light of developments due to the spread of COVID-19 in Europe and related decisions made by different governments, all UEFA club competitions matches scheduled next week are postponed.
“As a consequence of the postponements, the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League quarter-final draws scheduled for 20 March have also been postponed.”
This means Chelsea’s away trip to Bayern Munich which previously was planned behind closed doors, will be postponed.
It remains to be confirmed whether Chelsea’s fixture against West Ham on April 5 will go ahead as scheduled.
