Chelsea are preparing for their huge showdown with Real Madrid tomorrow night – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have claimed they want to see Olivier Giroud back in the starting XI.
The Blues host Spanish giants Madrid on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge for a place in the Champions League final.
Thomas Tuchel’s side recorded a 1-1 away draw last week in the first leg, giving them the slender advantage of an away goal.
Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain battle it out Tuesday in the other semi-final, which means Chelsea will know who they face in the final if they can overcome European heavyweights Madrid.
Apart from Mateo Kovacic, Tuchel has a fully fit strong squad to pick from, and selecting an XI is going to be tough.
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media have suggested that frontman Giroud should come into the team.
The 34-year-old centre-forward hasn’t made the match day squad in the previous two Premier League games and was an unused substitute in the previous Madrid fixture, which is why it’ll be a massive surprise if he’s involved tomorrow.
However, plenty feel the experienced French World Cup winner would bring the know-how they need on the elite stage.
He’s scored 11 goals in 27 appearances this campaign, including four against Sevilla earlier in the group stages, but he’s not been a favourite under Tuchel.
