Marko Grujic relished the idea of potentially facing off against N’Golo Kante when Chelsea takes on Porto later today, speaking to Goal.

A Champions League quarter final in Sevilla awaits the Premier League and Portuguese giants this evening.

Porto previously knocked out Juventus on their route to this game, with Chelsea handing Atletico Madrid the same fate.

It is an intriguing battle of two teams going well in their respective leagues, but who haven’t tasted European success for some time.

Grujic, who is part of the Porto squad whilst on loan from Liverpool, couldn’t wait to challenge some of Chelsea’s superstar players.

One name in particular caught his eye.

He said: “The midfield is so strong. Kante, wow! He covers so much ground, it’s ridiculous.

“I heard them say in England that he is like having two midfielders in one!

“I never played against him, so I am really looking forward to that challenge.”

This clash with Kante that Grujic envisions may have to wait a little while longer than he’d hoped.

Thomas Tuchel confirmed that the Frenchman had recovered from a hamstring problem suffered on international duty.

The German coach did however insist that Kante was only fit enough to start on Chelsea’s bench.

Although this might dampen Grujic’s dreams, it will certainly boost Porto’s hopes of gaining a positive result.

Kante had been in cracking form for club and country until pulling up with that injury.

Chelsea of course have decent midfield replacements, with Jorginho and Mason Mount both returning having missed the Atletico tie through suspension.

But Tuchel will know that not having Kante from the off will give their opponents from Portugal confidence.
