Mason Burstow is one of several academy Chelsea players who will take part in the first-team training camp in Abu Dhabi.

Burstow uploaded a photo to his Instagram story on a plane, seemingly en route to attend the warm weather camp on the other side of the globe.

The 19-year-old was selected by Graham Potter to hopefully showcase his skills against the senior members of the squad not at the World Cup.

Mason Burstow heads to Abu Dhabi

He is yet to make a first-team appearance for Chelsea since his move from Charlton Athletic in January.

Charlton retained his services for the remainder of the 2021/22 season, where he scored six times in total.

His eye for goal continued after permanently becoming a Blue, having already netted on four occasions this season for the Under-21s.

Abu Dhabi might just be the setting for Burstow to persuade Potter he is worthy of at least a sniff of Premier League football.

Several of the teenager’s other youthful teammates will be aiming to complete the same mission.

Chelsea confirmed the 25 players hand picked by the manager, which included at least 12 members of the development set up.

Amongst the list is Malik Mothersille, Ben Elliot, Charlie Webster, Josh Brooking, Alfie Gilchrist, Bashir Humphreys and Eddie Beach.

Lewis Hall has already impressed on his two appearances under Potter, whilst Omari Hutchinson has been on the bench for three senior fixtures.
