N’Golo Kante will continue his recovery process with the Chelsea team as part of their training camp in Abu Dhabi.

Kante was confirmed as part of the 25-man squad selected by Graham Potter to jet off across the globe to continue working whilst the World Cup rumbles on.

The 30-year-old boarded the plane along with several senior stars and a collection of academy players, despite not playing competitively since September.

He sustained an injury against Tottenham Hotspur on just the second weekend of Premier League action.

Chelsea fans haven’t seen their £30m midfielder at all from that moment onwards.

Potter clearly wanted to keep the pack together as much as possible, even those who have spent longer in the treatment room than on the field.

Along with Kante, Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Wesley Fofana also flew to Abu Dhabi as they attempt to be healed in time ahead of club football’s resumption.

James and Fofana both suffered their respective wounds in October, whilst Chilwell’s damage occurred last month.

All three of the defenders have endured terrible luck with injuries in the past 12 months or so.

James and Chilwell both missed a big chunk of the previous campaign, with their absences aligning with Chelsea’s downturn in results and performances.

Fofana meanwhile played just 12 times for Leicester City last season due to a fractured fibula, yet was still made a summer signing by Todd Boehly.

This trio, and Kante, will be eyeing up a return just in time for Chelsea’s first game back post-World Cup, a visit from Bournemouth on the 27th of December.
