Thomas Tuchel highlighted how important Mason Mount will be for Chelsea during their final three fixtures of the campaign.

Speaking to the club website, Tuchel was looking ahead to tomorrow’s Premier League tie with Leicester City.

Just over 48 hours ago, the two sides were contesting an FA Cup final at Wembley.

The Foxes outfought Chelsea 1-0 to win the competition for the very first time.

Tuchel’s team have a chance at redemption on Tuesday evening as they continue their hunt for Champions League qualification.

One man who is very likely to play a part against Leicester is Mount, who came close to scoring in the cup extravaganza last weekend.

“He is a key player for us in every match, he’s always so decisive and that will not change for the next three matches,” said Tuchel about his young midfielder.

“He is absolutely key for us”

Mount has enjoyed a sterling season up to this point.

In 51 appearances, the 22-year-old has scored nine goals and provided eight assists.

His statistics could improve further in the next fortnight.

Chelsea have two more games to cement their spot inside the top four, with Aston Villa awaiting them on the final day.

Their last task is to overcome Manchester City in the Champions League show piece event on the 29th of May.

Whatever happens between now and the end of the month, none of Tuchel’s excellent work can be discredited.

But it could be harmed if the Blues fail to beat book their ticket for Europe next term.
