'Beautiful news': Some Chelsea fans buzzing that 29-year-old may still be a Blue next season

Chelsea supporters were mainly in good spirits after hearing Jorginho’s agent claim his client wouldn’t be going anywhere in the summer.

Joa Santos told Tutto Mercato that Jorginho will ‘remain at Chelsea, one hundred percent’, despite previously suggesting otherwise.

Here’s how Blues fans reacted to the update about their Italian midfielder’s future.

Jorginho has been with Chelsea since signing from Napoli in 2018.

He and Maurizio Sarri both stepped foot into Stamford Bridge together, having previously combined in Naples.

Sarri was soon removed from his managerial post in London, but Jorginho remained as Frank Lampard came onto the scene.

Despite featuring pretty consistently under Lampard, there were rumbles from Jorginho’s camp about a possible return to Italy.

These murmurs continued even into Thomas Tuchel’s reign, following the sacking of his predecessor in January.

Santos was the advocator for these transfer whispers.

Last month, he told Kiss Kiss Napoli that a move back to Naples would be ‘possible’ for Jorginho.

However, after his latest omission, it seems the 29-year-old is staying put for a little while longer.

His contract doesn’t run out until 2023 and Tuchel is a big admirer of the former Napoli conductor.

Chelsea’s boss reportedly wanted to sign Jorginho whilst he was Paris Saint Germain manager (Daily Mail).

The pair have certainly struck up a good relationship in a short time, with Jorginho featuring in all but one of the German coach’s first ten Premier League games at the helm.
