Captain Christensen

Antonio Conte has backed Andreas Christensen to one day captain the side. The Dane has been a standout player for Chelsea this season since displacing David Luiz from the starting line-up. He did receive some criticism for his mistake which led to Barcelona’s equaliser last week, but Conte sees Christensen as a potential Chelsea skipper in the future.

“Christensen is having a fantastic season and showing great maturity. For me, apart from the mistake, his performance was great, was wonderful.

“I have a lot of trust in Christensen. This player is a player for the present for Chelsea, and for Chelsea’s future for 10 or 12 years.

“He can also become the captain of this team in the future.”

Karamoh Wanted

Chelsea are reportedly keen on bringing Yann Karamoh to the club. The 19-year-old is currently on a two-year loan deal at Inter Milan from French side Caen, and there is an obligation to buy at the end for the Italian side. Since making the move to Serie A, Karamoh has impressed and is also being eyed by the likes of Barcelona. Even though Inter will be purchasing him outright at the end of the 2018/19 season, clubs are still interested in signing the youngster. The Serie A side will want to keep him, however, after impressing in a string of first team games recently.

Lewandowski Links

Chelsea will attempt a move for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski in the summer – if the Polish striker can persuade the German side to let him move. The Pole is reportedly keen to leave the Bundesliga this summer, and is also being eyed by Manchester United, Real Madrid, and PSG. The German champions are set to resist any offers for the striker, and are under no financial pressure to let Lewandowski go either. His current contract runs until 2021, so a move for Lewandowski is very unlikely to actually happen this summer.
