Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel makes Liverpool and Leicester City final-day fixtures predictions

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel said he will only be interested in top-four rivals Liverpool and Leicester City’s games in the final minutes, although he still expects the two sides to win.

Among these three top-four contenders, Chelsea are the only team that will have an away game.

While Liverpool and Leicester have their supporters in their stadiums, Chelsea will play in front of Villa fans which Tuchel described as a “disadvantage”.

The Blues are in a more comfortable position than the other two, though, albeit only one point ahead.

Tuchel has reiterated how important it is for Chelsea to focus on their won game — which makes sense since they will finish third if they win, regardless of the other teams’ results.

But the German himself did not hide that he might have to take a peek at live results if things are not as comfortable as they hope for at Villa Park.

“I think that everybody, outside or even here [at Chelsea] more or less expects home wins of Leicester City and Liverpool,” Tuchel told Chelsea TV ahead of Sunday’s trip.

“I will not get involved with their results during the first half or at half-time.

“This can be something for the last maybe 20 minutes when we need to decide [whether] to take more risks or not if anything is decided.

“But this is an issue. If you rely on other results, it’s the worst thing can do.

“I mean, we’ve seen everything happens; late goals, overtime changes things around.

“That’s why we [should] do well [ourselves] to appreciate what we have, the situation that we worked for.

“Now there is a situation, we accept the difficulty of the challenge and try to be at our best level.”
