Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell posts message on Twitter to Ashley Cole
Chelsea’s new left-back Ben Chilwell has sent a message on Twitter to club legend Ashley Cole and explained that the pair have had a conversation.
Cole, who now works with the Blues as coach of the Under-15s side, is considered to be one of England’s greatest ever full-backs and during his playing career he spent eight successful years at Stamford Bridge.

Chilwell is one of several new signings made by Chelsea boss Frank Lampard this summer and he’s arrived to try fill the role at left-back.
The 23-year-old has joined off the back of a brilliant start to his senior career with Leicester City, where he played 123 first-team games for them and developed into a top Premier League performer.
He is an attack-minded defender that is so effective when he flies forward with his pace and has great end product, which is why the prospect of having him and Reece James on opposite full-back positions is an exciting one.
Chilwell has shared on social that he had a discussion with Cole on Wednesday and uploaded a message to him.
Great afternoon spent chatting to this legend! Hopefully i can have a career like yours at this amazing club 💙 @TheRealAC3 pic.twitter.com/7s8phrfdAN

If there is one area of Chilwell’s game that needs improving, it would be the defensive side with his back to goal and he could just do with sharpening up his positional awareness.
He’s got all the potential to be an elite signing for Chelsea and there is no better player for any left-back to take advice from than Cole, who year on year was a rock in the Blues defence.
