Chelsea recorded a convincing victory over Burnley on Saturday in the Premier League – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter picked out Ross Barkley for his impressive performance.

The Blues beat Burnley at home with a 3-0 scoreline at Stamford Bridge and consolidated fourth in the league table.

Jorginho calmly opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a trademark penalty, before in-form striker Tammy Abraham headed in a second to make a two-goal lead at half-time.

Callum Hudson-Odoi wrapped up three points in the second-half with a third goal and the winger is beginning to reign his best form.

Manager Frank Lampard was without key midfielder N’Golo Kante through injury and Barkley was a huge surprise inclusion in the starting XI against Burnley.

The 26-year-old midfielder featured in a first league game since October and he certainly made a statement with his encouraging display.

He made a goal-line clear in the first-half to bail out his team, while on the ball he was tidy and he had energy all over the park too that showed his determination.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media were pleasantly surprised by Englishman Barkley for his eye-catching contribution at the weekend.

It was only his 11th appearance of the season across all competitions and it would be some revival if he was to work his way back into Lampard’s good books moving forward.
