Chelsea were beaten 2-0 away to Leicester City on Tuesday night – but some of the club’s fans on Twitter did at least find one positive in the performance of their youngster Mason Mount.
The Blues remain eighth in the Premier League table after the defeat and it looks like they’re in a huge fight to try battle for the Champions League positions.
Frank Lampard’s side looked second best for large spells of the game and lacked a cutting edge in attack.
Meanwhile, they were undone defensively by first-half goals from Wilfred Ndidi and James Maddison.
Chelsea were caught sleeping from a Leicester corner-kick routine which allowed Ndidi to break the deadlock, while the entire defence were undone by a ball over the top for the decisive second before half-time.
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media felt that Mount was one player that could come out of the game with his head held high.
The 22-year-old central midfielder was in a slightly more disciplined role due to the fact Kai Havertz started in the midfield trio.
Mount, who has been the team’s most consistent player this season, put an incredible shift throughout with his energy and the final ball just wasn’t quite there.
It seemed like the team ran out of ideas in the end, but it was visible the frustration on the youngster’s face.
