Christian Pulisic completed 90 minutes against Sheffield United on Saturday – and some Chelsea fans ripped into him for his performance.

Frank Lampard’s team had stormed into a two-goal lead by half-time, as in-form striker Tammy Abraham capitalised on two mistakes to net twice and show he is ready for regular top-flight action.

But visitors Sheffield United were allowed back into the game in the second period as Callum Robinson scored quickly after the restart.

The Blades then earned a point for themselves through Kurt Zouma’s 89th minute own goal and it was a similar case of Chelsea switching off int he second-half.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media were quick to criticise Pulisic for his individual efforts and weren’t too impressed by their summer recruit.

The 20-year-old attacker has been involved in all five games so far this campaign across all competitions, with the highlight being his performance against Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup.

But this weekend he struggled to leave his mark on the fixture against Sheffield United and they are the types of matches he should be excelling in.

He spent most the contest on the right flank, but was just lack the final ball and his decision making does need to improve.

With Callum Hudson-Odoi closing in on a return, Pulisic should be slightly fearful about his spot in the XI and will know he needs to raise his game.

But the USA international is still a rising talent adapting to a new club and the boo-boys should perhaps be a little bit more patient.
