Thomas Tuchel gave a positive update on the fitness of Callum Hudson-Odoi on Wednesday – and some Chelsea fans were extremely delighted with the news.
Hudson-Odoi, 20, came off at half time in the weekend’s 0-0 draw against Manchester United and was pictured on the bench with some strapping on his knee.
But Blues manager Tuchel confirmed (official website) in his press conference today that the youngster is fit for Thursday.
Chelsea travel to Anfield tomorrow for a crucial Premier League fixture against rivals Liverpool.
Tuchel’s men are currently fifth in the league standings hunting down the Champions League positions, while opponents Liverpool are just a point behind them in sixth.
Liverpool may be a side that have fallen miles off the pace from the levels that saw them storm to the league title last season, but they still have world-class talents littered across their team.
Chelsea visit Merseyside with a strong squad of their own, which will include academy graduate Hudson-Odoi.

Hudson-Odoi has been an attacking winger during his short career so far, but he’s played several game now as a wing-back in Tuchel’s system and looked the part.
