Hakim Ziyech starred for Chelsea in a behind-close-doors match on Saturday – and as a result some of the club’s fans on Twitter are predicting big things from him in the new campaign.
The Blues kicked off their pre-season schedule with a 6-1 victory against Peterborough United at Cobham.
Thomas Tuchel doesn’t have all his international stars back from their summer break yet, but still has a large squad to work with.
Ziyech, 28, stole the headlines with his second-half hat-trick. The left-footed attacker scored three times after coming on as a half-time substitute.
In addition, Tammy Abraham, Christian Pulisic and Armando Broja also netted for Chelsea in the training match.
Can Ziyech be surprise Chelsea package this season?
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media are confident that Ziyech can be a major player in the 2021/22 season.
The right-winger, who can also play in a number 10 pocket, finished last season with six goals and four assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.
It was a debut year at Stamford Bridge where he was part of a squad that won the Champions League. However, the ex-Ajax maestro is capable of much more.
The competition for places in the Blues XI is tough, but it feels like the best is yet to come from him in the Premier League.
