Chelsea fans give credit to Callum Hudson-Odoi despite Arsenal defeat
Chelsea were beaten 3-1 away to Arsenal on Saturday evening on Boxing Day – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter responded to pick out Callum Hudson-Odoi as one player who deserved credit for his performance.
The Blues travelled to the Emirates Stadium preparing to face an Arsenal team massively struggling for form, but it was a really poor display from the visitors in the Premier League fixture.
Frank Lampard’s side found themselves 2-0 behind at half-time, with an Alexandre Lacazette penalty and a Granit Xhaka free-kick putting the hosts in front.
Bukayo Saka extended Arsenal’s lead early in the second period and Tammy Abraham’s 85th minute goal turned out to be a consolation, although Jorginho missed a penalty soon after to prevent what would’ve been a tense stoppage time.
RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media wanted to give credit to youngster Hudson-Odoi for his contribution in a losing cause.
The 20-year-old attacker was substituted on at half-time and injected some positive intent for his side.
The rapid right-winger managed to assist Abraham’s goal with his cross into the penalty area and asked questions of Arsenal full-back Kieran Tierney.
Here are some Chelsea fans praising Hudson-Odoi, with plenty desperate to see him start on Monday against Aston Villa:
