Tammy Abraham starred in the win over Aston Villa – and some Chelsea fans on Twitter were blown away by the performance of the striker.

The 22-year-old spent last season out on loan at Villa last season to help them earn promotion to the top-flight, but helped inflict a defeat on them in the Premier League fixture.

Frank Lampard’s team managed to record a 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge, as they bounced back from back-to-back losses in the league.

Abraham put the Blues in front with his header in the 24th minute, as he got on the end of a cross from teammate Reece James.

But visitors Villa went into half-time on level terms courtesy of a fortunate goal from Trezeguet that trickled over the line.

Chelsea deservedly earned three points thanks to Mason Mount’s powerful 48th minute volley, which was assisted by a chested pass from Abraham.

Abraham enjoyed a memorable night against Villa, with the only slight concern the fact that he appeared to limp off late in the final 10 minutes.

The England international now has 12 goals and five assists across all competitions this season, which shows that he’s had no problems with his step up to the first-team.

He’s proving that he’s got the all-round game to lead the line and he must be the biggest success story of the academy this campaign.
