Jorginho completed 90 minutes for Italy on Monday night in their win over the Netherlands – and some Chelsea fans on Twitter responded by giving their player big praise for his performance.

Italy recorded a 1-0 away victory against Holland in the Nations League, with Nicolo Barella scoring the winner late in the first-half.

Chelsea’s Jorginho was very impressive in the centre of the park for his country, as he slotted into his usual role as a deep-lying midfielder and showed off his range of passing.

The 28-year-old was incredibly efficient in possession for Italy and kept them ticking over, while letting the more creative players ahead of him influence the game in the final third.

Despite the fact he had a couple of spells out of the Chelsea XI last season, he still played 44 games across all competitions for the club and managed seven goals due to his quality from the penalty spot.

The central midfielder isn’t considered a favourite with many of the fanbase and plenty are unclear on his future, but he was important to manager Frank Lampard during the last campaign by competing alongside Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante for a starting position.

A selection of Blues supporters on social media were impressed by Jorginho’s international outing, with one mentioning how he got the better of new Manchester United signing Donny van de Beek.
