Chelsea managed to come away from Lille with a 2-1 victory on Wednesday night – and some of the club’s supporters praised goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga for his performance.

The Blues earned three points in the Champions League group stages, as Willian’s volley in the second-half secured the win.

Frank Lampard’s team have now won their last three consecutive games across all competitions and it was his first European victory since becoming boss in the summer at Stamford Bridge.

It was a decent away performance in Europe that saw Tammy Abraham continue his dazzling form with the opening goal, but more dreadful organisation from a corner meant that Victor Osimhen equalised with a header for the hosts.

It was senior figure Willian that ended up producing the match-winning moment with his volley, but it was another night where the academy graduates impressed in the first-team.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media picked out Kepa for his display in net.

The Blues looked fairly comfortable for large spells against Lille, but did require their goalkeeper to spring into action on a few occasions.

Kepa leaped to the rescue of a poor Fikayo Tomori back-pass late on with a well-timed challenge and his decision making to come off his line was spot on throughout the night.

The 25-year-old chipped in with a couple of great saves and was mainly calm in possession with the ball at his feet too.

He could do very little with the Lille goal from the set-piece and defending from corners is something that Lampard needs to work more on in training.

The Spain international has just one clean sheet in 10 games across all competitions this season, but that’s through no fault of his own and he needs a settled backline in front of him.

Keep looks the long-term solution as the number one and is extremely consistent.
