Chelsea rescued a point against West Brom on Saturday evening in the Premier League – and some of the club’s supporters singled Mason Mount out as a real positive from the match.

Despite the Blues scoring a last-minute goal to secure a 3-3 draw, it was a majorly disappointing performance away to newly-promoted West Brom at the Hawthorns.

Frank Lampard’s side found themselves trailing by a three-goal lead at half-time, as a string of errors in defence meant that they gave themselves an uphill task in the second period.

Chelsea eventually found a way to get past the opposition’s backline, with academy graduates Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham all finding the net.

It was centre-forward Abraham who popped up with a 93rd minute goal from close-range to salvage the draw and the manager can at least take heart from the spirit shown to comeback.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media named Mount as one of the few positives from the match, as he looked like the individual trying to make things happen and had a brilliant work-rate as usual.

He pulled Chelsea’s first goal back to make it 3-1 with a low driven shot from distance and looked far more comfortable when he was moved into a central midfield position, as he started the match from a wide right role.

The 21-year-old England international is a personal favourite of Lampard and he justified that at the weekend, but there is so much work that needs to be done within the group based on the early-season form.
