Chelsea were eliminated from the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night by Tottenham – but some of the Blues fans on Twitter did find some joy from the performance of N’Golo Kante.

Frank Lampard’s side were beaten in a penalty shootout, as rivals Spurs progressed to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Timo Werner’s first Chelsea goal put the visitors in front with a clinical finish from the edge of the box, but Erik Lamela made it 1-1 late in the second-half to send the tie to penalties.

The Blues will now have to prepare for a final league game against Crystal Palace on Saturday before the international break, but it was a big opportunity missed in midweek.
