Chelsea fans praise youngster Thierno Ballo for his Under-23s performance

Chelsea’s Under-23s side returned to winning ways on Friday night – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were amazed by the performance of their rising teenage talent Thierno Ballo.

The Blues beat Everton’s Under-23s last night at Kingsmeadow, which ended a five-game run in the Premier League 2 without a victory.

Ballo was the match-winner for Chelsea, as the attacker scored a goal in each half for the home side.

The 19-year-old fired in two separate first-time finishes, timing his runs into the box to perfection on both occasions.

After starting on the bench in the two previous Premier League 2 matches, he was recalled to the XI by manager Andy Myers and fully justified the decision with his two-goal heroics against Everton.

Ballo, who can play anywhere across the forward line or in a number 10 playmaker position, has been with Chelsea since 2018.

The speedster has been a regular in the development squad this season, and will hope he can knock on the door of the first team with more encouraging performances.

It’s been shown in recent years that there is a path from the academy to the senior group, so it’s exciting to watch those young talents perform.
