Pedro made a late cameo appearance in the defeat to Manchester United – and some Chelsea fans on Twitter ripped him to shreds for his performance.
The Blues were knocked out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night in the last-16, as they lost at Stamford Bridge 2-1 to United.
Frank Lampard’s side were undone by a Marcus Rashford penalty in the first-half, before he scored a phenomenal free-kick from long distance in the second-half to cancel out Michy Batshuayi’s equaliser.
Chelsea did see their seven-game winning streak come to an end, but there were six changes made to the team for the cup fixture and it was needed during a busy schedule.
A selection of supporters on social media were particularly frustrated with Pedro for his display.
The experienced Spaniard entered the action in the 70th minute from the bench and offered very little going forward, while he did also give away the foul for Rashford’s free-kick.
Pedro has struggled for regular minutes so far this campaign in West London and is someone being phased out by Lampard right now.
The 32-year-old has been a great servant that has won three pieces of major silverware with the Blues, which is why the major criticism being fired at him is a little over the top.
But it seems a good time for him to move on when his contract expires at the end of the season and allow the young guard to replace him.
Here are some Chelsea fans tearing into Pedro:
Oh how average Pedro was yesterday. #CFC

Glad pedro doesn’t make the matchday squad on a reg, man is a terrible footballer and should be sent far away from CFC

Good to know Pedro is in the last year of his contract. No extension pls. He has nothing to offer against. He cost us the game. That match would have reached penalty shootouts. A waste of a substitution. #CHEMUN #CFC
