Olivier Giroud was once again a star performer for France in their victory on Tuesday night – and some Chelsea fans on Twitter were left raving about his international display.

The left-footed striker scored twice in France’s 4-2 victory over Sweden in the Nations League and he’s moving close towards his nation’s all-time goalscoring record.

Giroud now has 44 senior goals for France, which is seven behind Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

His first goal was a clinical low finish that he drilled into the net, while his second was a trademark header.

Despite not being a regular starter at Chelsea, Giroud has continued to remain an important part of his national side and he rarely lets them down when he plays.

The 34-year-old forward is stuck behind Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham in the pecking order right now at Stamford Bridge, which must be frustrating for him given the way he finished last season.

His goal were a major factor in the club getting over the line for a top-four finish in the Premier League, but this season he’s played just six games in all competitions.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media admitted are Giroud’s France display that they feel he’s unfortunate not to play more and insist he’s underrated.
