Ex-Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has been linked with Arsenal – and some of the Blues fans on Twitter have responded by claiming they would hate to see him join their London rivals.
Italian website Stadio Sport reports that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is close to being dismissed after an underwhelming start to the season, with Sarri named at the top of the shortlist as a potential replacement at the Emirates Stadium.
The 61-year-old is currently out of a job after leaving Juventus back in the summer and the report claims he is prepared to dive straight back into management.
Sarri spent just a year in charge at Stamford Bridge, but did manage to win the Europa League for Chelsea in the 2018/19 season, ironically beating Arsenal in the final in Baku.
The Italian boss wasn’t a favourite with the Blues fans during his time in West London due to his rigid possession-based style of football and there is a lot more support for current man Frank Lampard, especially as he’s a club legend from his playing career.
But he’s a high-profile name now reportedly wanted by Arsenal, if they decide to get rid of Arteta.
