Chelsea recorded a narrow 2-1 win away to Rennes on Tuesday evening – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were raving about the performance from Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The Blues qualified for the Champions League knockout rounds after they secured a victory in France, with Hudson-Odoi and Olivier Giroud both on the scoresheet.
Frank Lampard’s side are through to the last-16 with two group matches remaining, which should give the manager the chance to rest players during a hectic schedule.
It looked like Chelsea would have to settle for a point when Serhou Guirassy’s 85th minute header cancelled out a first-half goal from Hudson-Odoi, which was a calm low finish on the end of a Mason Mount through ball.
But substitute Olivier Giroud popped up with a goal in stoppage time to clinch a Chelsea win, which certainly wasn’t vintage but so important.

A selection of Blues supporters on social media believe that youngster Hudson-Odoi was a real standout with his European display.
The 20-year-old attacker was used as a right-winger in the contest, with his goal coming from a great run infield.
He wants to be pushing for a starting position on a regular occasion and he’s done himself no harm with his latest contribution, as he looked a threat going forward and also showed defensive discipline when tracking back.
