Chelsea fans react to Juan Cuadrado Champions League display for Juventus
Former Chelsea man Juan Cuadrado was in action on Tuesday night on the Champions League stage – and some Blues fans on Twitter were blown away by the performance from their ex-player.
Cuadrado, who spent two years on the books at Stamford Bridge, played last night for Juventus during their memorable European tie against Porto.
The Italian giants Juventus won 3-2 on the night after extra time, but exited the competition due to the away goal rule with Porto progressing to the quarter-finals.
If there is any consolation for Cuadrado, it’s the fact that he looked like the best player on the pitch.
The 32-year-old is a key player this campaign for the Serie A club as their right wing-back. He’s an attack-minded full-back that remarkably has 14 assists in 27 games across all competitions this season.
RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.
The 88-time capped Colombia international delivered an assist on a plate for teammate Federico Chiesa against Porto, as well as put in some delicious crosses throughout the 120 minutes of football.
Unfortunately, he saw a brilliant left-footed effort bounce off the crossbar on the stroke of full time in the opening 90 minutes.
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media were wowed by Cuadrado’s midweek display.
He played just 15 games for the Blues and barely got a look-in, with the club loaning him out to Juventus before eventually selling him to them.
The speed machine was regarded more as a winger when Chelsea signed him in 2015, but he’s superb nowadays at wing-back and one Blues fan even admitted he wouldn’t mind him back in West London.
