Reece James completed 90 minutes during England’s Nations League defeat on Wednesday night – and some Chelsea fans on Twitter were left raving about their defender following his performance.

Gareth Southgate’s side were beaten 1-0 by Denmark at Wembley Stadium, with Christian Eriksen’s first-half penalty the difference between the sides in the end.

England had to play with just 10 men for two-thirds of the contest following Harry Maguire’s dismissal for two yellow cards and it ended with a disappointing international defeat for the Three Lions.

Despite ending up on the losing side, James was undoubtedly one of the most eye-catching performers on the night and has surely done his chances of more game-time with England no harm moving forward.

The 20-year-old started his first game for his country at senior level and was used as a right wing-back, which allowed him to show off his incredible attacking talent.

He got the nod ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold in the starting XI and delivered a number of mouth-watering crosses into the penalty box, as well as digging in defensively when his team were a man light.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media were massively proud of their full-back for his efforts on the international stage and believe he was England’s best player.
