Chelsea face Manchester City tomorrow in the FA Cup semi-finals – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have claimed they want to see Timo Werner back in the starting XI.
The Blues travel to Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening as slight underdogs to reach the final, as they play current Premier League leaders Man City.
It’s a meeting between two teams that are also in the Champions League semi-finals, albeit they are on different sides of the draw in that respective competition.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has rotated frequently since his mid-season appointment, but it looks like he’s starting to find a formula in attack he likes.
Kai Havertz as the central figure, supported by Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic just behind has proven effective.
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media though want Werner to be given another chance by being restored to the starting line-up.
The 25-year-old German attacker has been out of the firing line recently due to his struggles in front of goal, with Tuchel deciding to drop him.
He’s chalked up 10 goals in all competitions during his first season with the Blues, but you could count several clear goalscoring opportunities he’s missed.
If he’s reinstated for a cup semi-final, it would surely be a huge confidence boost.
Here are some Chelsea fans that feel Werner’s pace could be well suited against Man City:
