Chelsea fans want Mason Mount recalled against Burnley

Chelsea travel to Burnley on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter want to see Mason Mount recalled to the starting XI.

The Blues recorded a 4-0 victory away to Krasnodar in midweek in the Champions League group stages and will be looking to build some momentum in the league.

Frank Lampard’s side beat Burnley in both league fixtures last season, including on their trip to Turf Moor when Christian Pulisic scored a hat-trick.

Chelsea have started the new league season with nine points from the opening six matches, which is why it’s vital they pick up a win at the weekend and they need to try find some consistency as their new-look squad blends together.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media have claimed in the build-up to the Burnley fixture that they want Mount back in the side.

Mount, 21, has been omitted from the XI in the two previous fixtures across all competitions and been used in a substitute role by manager Lampard.

The attacking midfielder was a pivotal player at Stamford Bridge last season by playing in more games than anyone else in the squad, but by his standard he’s still trying to get up to top gear at the beginning of the new campaign and there is certainly more to come from him.
