Chelsea fans want Mateo Kovacic recalled on Monday against Everton

Chelsea host Everton on Monday evening in the Premier League – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter want to see Mateo Kovacic recalled to the starting XI.

It’s a critical game in two days time in the battle for the top four, as fourth-placed Chelsea face fifth-placed Everton at Stamford Bridge. 

They are two of the teams in a pack of clubs that are aiming to finish in the Champions League positions. 

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has started his reign as manager with an unbeaten 10-game streak, which included the win away to Liverpool in the last game. 

The Blues manager has opted to rotate frequently so far, especially due to the sheer volume of fixtures.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media have suggested that 26-year-old Kovacic should be back in the starting line-up against Everton. 

The £40million (BBC) central midfielder has started all-but one of Tuchel’s Premier League fixtures so far, but was surprisingly on the bench against Liverpool and featured as a late substitute. 

He’s a dynamic midfielder that brings so much to the team on the ball, but he’s battling for starting roles with talented teammates N’Golo Kante and Jorginho.
