If you could bring any former Chelsea player back to the club, who would you pick?
Most would answer Eden Hazard or Cesc Fabregas. Some would even opt for Kevin de Bruyne or Mohamed Salah who have been tearing up the Premier League with Manchester City and Liverpool, respectively.
But not Marcos Alonso. He wants Diego Costa.
In a Q&A on Chelsea’s Instagram stories, Alonso said: “The beast himself and my good friend Diego Costa.”

The Spanish striker is a controversial figure. On one hand, his antics often caused problems for Chelsea. But how he bullies defenders would make any game more watchable.
Costa played a major role in Chelsea’s Premier League title-winning campaign under Jose Mourinho in 2014/15. Costa scored 20 league goals which put him third in the top-scoring chart.
The Atletico Madrid man also helped Chelsea won another Premier League title under Antonio Conte in 2016/17. Coincidentally, he also scored 20 league goals that season.

However, after getting the infamous text from Conte which ended his Chelsea career, Costa returned to Atletico Madrid in 2017.
Some would argue Conte brought the problem to himself by treating such an important player like that, but Costa is Costa.
Perhaps the Italian manager just had enough of him and everyone can picture how a strict, drill sergeant like Conte would not get along with Costa the absolute madman.
