Chelsea have been urged to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish by former player Alan Hudson. The Englishman played over 100 games for the Blues from 1969 to 1974 and feels that the 24-year-old could be exactly what Lampard’s side needs to reach the next level.
The Villa star has been one of the league’s standout performers this season despite his side struggling. Grealish, who could cost around £70m (Goal), has scored nine goals and provided six assists in 25 appearances in all competitions. Without his contributions to the side, Dean Smith’s team would be all but relegated to the Championship.

The English midfielder, who is yet to make a senior appearance for the national side, is deserving of a move to a top club. The Mirror has reported that Grealish will remain at Villa Park until the end of the season, but a move could be on the cards in the summer.
Former Chelsea man Hudson believes that the Villa man could have the same impact on the Blues that Eden Hazard did. He told CaughtOffside: ”Grealish is the most outstanding attacking midfield player in the game at this moment. A player who goes past people and scores goals. The bottom line is Chelsea haven’t got anyone since Hazard left who has the fans on the edge of their seats. Jack Grealish would be that man.”

It is an interesting point that Hudson is making. The Blues are missing a cutting edge in midfield and need a player that can change the game in an instant. Grealish has proved that he has the ability to do that on a regular basis. Lampard should seriously consider pursuing him in the summer.
