Thiago Silva and N’Golo Kante are the only two Chelsea players who make the 55-man shortlist for FIFA FIFPro Men’s World 11.
It is hardly a surprise that the pair make the list.
Silva captained Paris Saint-Germain to the Champions League final last season.
He also helped PSG win the domestic treble after scooping the Ligue 1 title and two domestic cups: the Coupe de la Ligue and the Coupe de France.
Since joining Chelsea in the summer, the Brazil international played a crucial role in transforming their defence.
Despite his injury problems last season, Kante is still widely regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world and has been irreplaceable for the Blues this term.
The 16th edition of the annual awards is based on voting from fellow footballers from 67 countries.
The current format includes 10 goalkeepers, 15 defenders, 15 midfielders and 15 forwards.
In last year’s edition, Chelsea have had just one representative in Eden Hazard.
While the Belgium International was accompanied by Kante in 2018 edition.
Silva has featured in FIFPro Men’s World XI three times in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
FIFA and FIFPro will announce the winners next Thursday, 17 December.
