Ben Chilwell said he has been impressed by Chelsea teammate Mason Mount and his effort in training since joining the club last summer.
Given his impressive work rate during games, it is not a surprise that Mount actually works as hard in training.
Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel, and England boss Gareth Southgate, have all described the 22-year-old as a hard worker.
And Chilwell clearly agrees with these managers.
Obviously, the left-back had already trained and played alongside Mount with England before, but he admits that he has been more impressed by the midfielder since joining Chelsea.
“Actually, coming here now and training with him every day, [I can see] how good he really is,” Chilwell said in his press conference on Monday.
“[And it’s] not just his natural ability, but also the fact that he works hard and is very keen to learn all the time.
“He’s always doing extra, always at the gym, doing everything he can to better himself.
“With the natural talent that he has, the work rate, the sky is the limit for him.
“If he keeps doing what he does; scoring, assisting, and working hard away from the training ground — which I know he does — he will be a great player for Chelsea and England for a long time.”
