New Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel said Frank Lampard sent him a good luck message on Thursday morning — and some Blues fans absolutely love it.

It is fair to say that Lampard’s dismissal upset quite a lot of people.

Even Lampard himself said he was disappointed not to have had more time to turn the situation around at Chelsea in his statement.

The appointment of Tuchel as the new manager has relatively been well-received by the fans, although there are understandably still some of those who are yet to be over Lampard’s sacking.

Tuchel said he understands how the fans feel as he shared the text message Lampard sent to him.

“I can absolutely assume it was a big disappointment for the fanbase to see that Frank was sacked, and I said before I have the biggest respect,” Tuchel said in his press conference on Thursday (via Chelsea’s official YouTube channel).

“I was a huge fan of Frank as a player.

“It was a pure joy to watch him play, and to see how he played, with the personality he played.

“He was one of the key figures to demonstrate what Chelsea is about. Intensity, devotion, and winning mentality.

“I have the biggest respect for him personally and his legacy.

“It just got bigger when I received a personal message today in the morning to wish me all the best and to maybe meet in the future when this is possible.”

Lampard reiterated that he is a Chelsea man first and foremost and his action shows exactly that.

Not only Tuchel, Lampard has also pretty much earned even bigger respects from some Chelsea fans as you could see from a selection of their reactions below.
