David Luiz Setback, Koulibaly Alert, and Romagnoli Rumours

David Luiz Setback

David Luiz has visited Barcelona twice this season, as the Brazilian continues to struggle with injuries. It has been confirmed that the defender is yet to undergo surgery, but has visited specialists in order to get fit for the rest of Chelsea’s season. Luiz hopes to be back for the Blues’ tie against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on April 1st, after missing a lot of the season through injury. He did lose his place in the Chelsea side after being dropped in favour of Andreas Christensen, whose impressive form kept him out of Antonio Conte’s team. The Brazilian last featured for Chelsea on February 5th, as the Blues lost 4-1 away to Watford.

Koulibaly Alert

Chelsea have been put on red alert over the future of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, as reports claim the Senegalese international could leave the club in the summer. The Blues have been interested in the 26-year-old for a while, and could finally make their move this summer. It is suggested that Chelsea aren’t the only side interested in Koulibaly, with both Arsenal and Manchester United also on alert over his future. Clubs would prefer any move for Koulibaly to happen before the start of the World Cup, as the defender could impress and increase his value.

Romagnoli Rumours

Recent reports have claimed that Chelsea have reignited their interest in AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli. The Blues were linked with a move for the Italian in the two previous summer transfer windows, but could not get a deal agreed. However, the Serie A club fear they could lose Romagnoli this summer if they miss out on Champions League football. The Italian has impressed for Gennaro Gattuso’s side, and it is expected that any move for the defender would need to be hefty for AC Milan to consider selling.
