Gary Neville has claimed that experienced Chelsea duo N’Golo Kante and Thiago Silva are two players that give the team the edge over Tottenham in the Premier League title race.
The Blues are currently third in the league table after a strong to the season, with Liverpool and Spurs both two points above them at the top.
After a busy summer of spending, the pressure has cranked up on Frank Lampard’s side to be in the mix for silverware this campaign, and everything appears to be clicking into place for them in the past couple of months.
Kante, 29, is a two-time Premier League winner that is playing in a defensive midfield role this season at Stamford Bridge and is delivering top-class performances on a weekly basis.
Meanwhile, 36-year-old centre-back Thiago Silva has helped transform the backline with his presence and has been a superb summer signing.
The Brazilian won seven league titles in France with former club Paris Saint-Germain, which is the kind of experience driving on a fairly young group.

Neville believes that Liverpool are still frontrunners to defend their league crown this season, but has rated Chelsea’s chances above current leaders Spurs.
“I think Chelsea have got more of a chance to win the league than Spurs because they have got N’Golo Kante, Thiago Silva, and players who could navigate them to it,” Neville told Sky Sports.
Chelsea’s exciting young squad have the talent to be in the mix for the title, but it’s going to take some experienced heads around them to guide them through, plus there is the obstacle of teams such as Liverpool, Manchester City and Spurs.
