Thomas Tuchel couldn’t contain his compliments when discussing N’Golo Kante and his contributions towards Chelsea, while speaking to Chelsea TV.

Kante is enjoying an extremely fine second half of the season, after fading slightly towards the end of Frank Lampard’s tenure.

Injuries have crept into his game, but whenever the 30-year-old has been fit, he’s been on fire for Tuchel.

The German coach didn’t hold back when asked to comment about his mini-midfielder.

He said: “Even my mother likes him! She doesn’t even know him, but since she’s been watching Chelsea games, she fell in love with N’Golo Kante.

“How can you not be? This guy is an incredible player. He gives so much on a physical level and at the same time be so good with the ball.”

“Driving with the ball, beating players, and have this mentality to always give 100%.

“He has this mentality of a water career that makes him very special.

“Mix of physical ability, intensity, quality on the ball, because I see this guy in training every day. And mentality. It’s an outstanding mix.”

With Mateo Kovacic currently out with a hamstring problem, even more responsibility falls on to Kante’s shoulders.

This extra burden hasn’t seemingly affected the French international, who continues to disrupt and dominate in Chelsea’s midriff.

Tuchel has been careful not to overwork Kante because of his recent medical history.

However, he won’t have much choice but to play him when the Blues host Brighton & Hove Albion this evening.
