Hakim Ziyech posted a message on social media after he made his first start for Chelsea on Wednesday during the win away to Krasnodar.
Frank Lampard’s side picked up three points in the Champions League group stages, as they beat Russian opponents Krasnodar 4-0 away from home in front of a crowd of around 11,000.
Ziyech, 27, has been eased into first-team action at Stamford Bridge as he recovers from an injury, but he started for the first time since he joined the Blues from Ajax.
The right-winger tucked in a composed left-footed finish to score, plus there were also goals from Callum Hudson-Odoi, Timo Werner and substitute Christian Pulisic.
Ziyech uploaded a post on Instagram after the European victory, which promoted responses from club teammates Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell.
He was labelled a “wizard” by fellow attacker Hudson-Odoi, which is no surprise considering he’s bringing a lot of creative flair to the side and fans will be extremely excited by the trickster.
Ziyech already looks like a popular man within the dressing room and he’s a laid back character that is going to bring an extra dimension to the Chelsea XI, as the left-footer has brilliant vision and the ability to switch play quickly.
With so much attacking talent at Lampard’s disposal, it’s vital they have a creative hub to link it all into one piece and they may have found the solution in Ziyech.
The Morocco international is a brave footballer in possession that will always look forward on the ball and won’t be afraid to try things, which is why he’ll quickly become a favourite with fans.
