Hazard Situation
There has been a lot of news regarding Eden Hazard in recent weeks. Last week, it was reported that he had turned down a new deal at Chelsea as he’s holding out for a move to Real Madrid. Whereas, other reports claim that the club are yet to offer him a deal as he’s not entered into the final two years of his contract. There are new reports this week, of two varying ideas. Some sources are claiming that Real are set to table an opening offer of £120 million for the Belgian in the summer, whereas others have claimed that the Spanish champions are ready to abandon their pursuit of the 26-year-old in order to give more playing time to Marco Asensio.
Barkley Boost
Chelsea have reportedly moved ahead of Tottenham in the race to sign Everton midfielder Ross Barkley. The 24-year-old almost signed for the Blues in the summer, but pulled out of a move so he could concentrate on getting back to full fitness before moving on. It is claimed that Chelsea have an advantage over their city rivals as they are willing to sign Barkley in the January transfer window, whereas Spurs would prefer to wait until the summer when he is available on a free. Everton are also said to be keen for a deal to be agreed this month.
Christensen Tracked
Andreas Christensen is being tracked by a number of European clubs, with Barcelona reportedly interested. The La Liga side have been searching for a new centre-back, and they’ve earmarked the Chelsea player as a potential signing. The Dane has been highly impressive this season after coming in for David Luiz, and his performances have interested a number of other clubs. The Blues are keen to keep Christensen for the long-term, however, and talks over a new contract could take place soon.
