A few Chelsea supporters on social media were stunned by N’Golo Kante’s actions during a training session with the French national team.
Kante was captured scoring a bullet header during an American football-style drill.
Towering at a colossal 5’5” (1.68 meters), the mini midfielder is not best known for his aerial ability.
But his repertoire continues to grow, much to the delight of Blues fans.
Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:
In the catalogue of Kante’s talents, heading a ball is not highlighted in a thick marker.
Tackling, intercepting, disrupting, energy, work rate, selflessness, passing, intelligence; all make up the 30-year-old’s wonderful footballing DNA.
But are we perhaps giving his inflight prowess a disservice?
According to WhoScored.com, no Chelsea player won more aerial duels in the Champions League final than Kante.
In fact, Ruben Dias and Oleksandr Zinchenko were the only names from either side who managed more airborne victories than the Frenchman.
So now the question should be: is there anything Kante can’t do?
This is an ominous inquiry for any opponent, especially as he is about to grace the European Championships with Les Blues.
Perhaps the only criticism that could be thrown at the Parisian prince is his contributions in the final third.
In 378 senior career appearances, he’s scored just 21 times and provided 23 assists.
He didn’t grab a single goal last season, with his best return for Chelsea arriving in the 2018/19 campaign (five all competitions).
But Kante compromises in all manner of ways that makes him one of the game’s most precious commodities.
