'He’s coming to Chelsea': Some Blues fans loved what Rice did to Rudiger at full-time yesterday

Plenty of Chelsea supporters were sent into overdrive after seeing Declan Rice and Antonio Rudiger’s interaction after last night’s European Championship tie.

Following England’s historic 2-0 over Germany at Wembley, Rice was pictured consoling a crestfallen Rudiger.

This of course teased the Blues fans who have wanted West Ham United’s midfielder back at Stamford Bridge for some time.

Here is how they reacted on Twitter:

Tasty Rice

While it was a sombre day for the German camp, it was pure ecstasy for England.

Not least for Rice, who walked a tightrope for nearly 90 minutes after picking up a yellow card early on.

He managed his game quite brilliantly from that moment and was pivotal to Gareth Southgate’s side success.

It was certainly a performance that Chelsea followers would love to see in their colours next season.

According to Eurosport, the 22-year-old is considering a move away from the London Stadium this summer, with Roman Abramovich waiting with bated breath.

With Billy Gilmour nearing a loan-move to Norwich City, Thomas Tuchel could probably do with another option in his midfield.

Based purely on yesterday’s display, Rice would be a wonderful addition.

But it wasn’t only his contribution against Germany that has endeared him to the Chelsea hierarchy.

Throughout the previous campaign, he led by example for the Hammers and was a key reason behind their Europa League qualification.

It is not quite the Champions League however.
