Garth Crooks enjoyed N’Golo Kante’s performance against West Ham United last weekend so much, he included the Chelsea star in his BBC Team of the Week.
Kante thrived during the Blues’ 1-0 Premier League scalp over their London rivals on Saturday.
He made more interceptions (three) and the joint highest number of tackles (four) of any Chelsea player on the pitch that day.
It was a display typical of the Frenchman’s spell in England.
From his honeymoon period with Leicester City, to his £30m (BBC Sport) move to Stamford Bridge, Kante has carried these contributions throughout his career.
A string of injuries recently have hampered the 30-year-old’s momentum slightly, but he looks as energised as ever under Thomas Tuchel.
Crooks had no hesitation when including the Blues fully fit motored midfielder into his TOTW.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker said: “The Chelsea manager has not been in a position to call on Kante as often as he would like because of injury but when he does the French dynamo takes his side to another level.
“Kante knows how to win trophies and Tuchel football matches. This combination has huge potential if both can stay the course.”
Tuchel and Chelsea are four games away from scooping up two prizes at the end of this season.
Tonight, they face Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final first leg bout.
Next month, a trip to Wembley in the FA Cup finale to face Leicester awaits the Blues.
Keep Kante away from the treatment table for this period, then Tuchel may well be onto a double winner in half a campaign with Chelsea.
