Fikayo Tomori has sent a heartfelt message to Chelsea following the confirmation of his permanent transfer to AC Milan this summer.

For now, the 23-year-old is still a Chelsea player. But starting from July 1, he will officially begin the new chapter of his career as an AC Milan player.

Tomori spent the second half of last season at San Siro as a loanee from Chelsea where he established himself as a key player.

Milan have decided to trigger the option to buy in Tomori’s loan deal for a reported £25million plus £5m in add-ons (The Guardian) and signed him on a four-year contract.

This is hardly a surprise, given the centre-back played a big role in helping them finish second in Serie A and secure a ticket to the Champions League.

Tomori has now sent a farewell message to Chelsea after 15 years at the club.

“Wow. Where do I start?” the centre-back wrote on Instagram.

“A club I’ve been with since I was eight years old.

“Growing through all stages of the academy. Helped me develop and grow as a player and a person.

“Winning various trophies throughout all the youth stages, to making my debut at Stamford Bridge, having the chance to play in the Premier League and the Champions League; the things I dreamt of as a kid.

“All I can say is thank you.

“To all the staff in the academy that got me to this point, all my teammates, all the fans, and Chelsea Football Club.

“I will miss you all.”
